Additional child support in excess of presumed correct support can be ordered (some mandatory; some discretionary): Commonly called "add-ons."
Add-ons may be allocated between parties.
FC §4062 allows a court to consider a request for childcare costs related to reasonably necessary education for prospective employment to allow a custodial parent to become self-supporting without the need for public assistance.
The trial ct. properly denied custodial parent's request for a child care add-on while she pursued elective education and had the ability to obtain fulltime ployment.
