Trial courts may restrict cross-examination of a witness on potential bias, prejudice, or ulterior motive based on Evid. Code §352.

EC §352 applies to evidence that tends to evoke an emotional bias against a defendant as an individual, and which has little effect on the issues.

In allowing DA witness to be impeached with fact of priors, trial court properly excluded evidence of the circs and her stmts about the priors; evidence may have augmented showing she lacked credibility, but was cumulative under EC 352.
